Who We Are

REDIRE is a non-profit development organization committed to fostering inclusive and equitable rural development through environmental conservation, climate resilience, and poverty reduction. Registered under n° 422/RGB/NGO/LP/12/2018, REDIRE operates as a key advocate for sustainable resource management, driving impactful solutions that restore riparian ecosystems, enhance rural livelihoods, and empower vulnerable communities in Rwanda.

Established in December 2016, REDIRE was founded by a collective of intellectuals and environmental advocates—men and women dedicated to reversing the degradation of rural ecosystems. Recognizing the direct link between healthy environments and human well-being, REDIRE champions reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and climate-smart economic development, ensuring long-term resilience for rural populations.
